Green Cross Health expands to Queenstown with Wakatipu Medical Centre

Wakatipu Medical Centre with clinics in Frankton and Lower Shotover recently chose to sell to Green Cross Health.
Medical centre partner Dr Val Miller who owned the business with Dr Bart Vangronsvelt and Practice Manager Phil Markham said “I had heard about Green Cross Health from a former university colleague who had sold them their practice. I noticed that selling to them hadn’t really changed the way the practice worked, and they had been really good to work with, so we talked about it and actually approached them,” says Miller.
“Running an ever-growing business was becoming more onerous and stressful.”
Miller says Green Cross Health will take over management roles like recruitment, IT and ordering with bulk-buying power.
“It’s going to enable us to offer more services, more economically which will take a huge weight off my shoulders, and hopefully enable me to go for much longer as a GP”.
Wayne Woolrich, General Manager Medical at Green Cross Health says, “Wakatipu Medical Centre is a great fit for us, and we are excited to welcome them to our network.”
“They have a great team running the two Queenstown clinics. We’re looking forward to working with them and supporting the team to continue to provide high quality care for their community.”
Green Cross Health also recently acquired Apollo Medical Centre a large leading Albany-based practice which takes their network to 50 medical centres supporting 317,000 enrolled patients across the country.
