Otara Whanau Medical Centre (OWMC) is a small GP practice within the Counties Manukau DHB (CMDHB) region. We aim to deliver a high quality, affordable and whanau-orientated service to enable long term wellness and empowerment towards a healthier living. The clinic has supported the Otara Community for over 20 years.

OWMC is on its final stages of renewing Cornerstone Accreditation; the clinic is a VLCA teaching practice. The clinic uses Medtech32.

For the operational needs and support for the patient population the clinic is seeking a female GP; the role is part-time working 8-hours a day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We ideally need an experienced Vocational Fellowship registered GP; however, this is not essential. It is essential that you have a current practicing certificate.

It has an Acute Care Area which includes Emergency Department and observation stabilisation beds; a 20 bed inpatient unit; diagnostics including laboratory, CT, Ultrasound and X-Ray; Primary Birthing Unit; Allied Health; and a range of Outpatient and Community Services.

Close working relationships are well established with both emergency services including helicopter retrievals via ICU and our base hospital in Dunedin.

The organisation has recently implemented significant changes resulting in roster patterns that are safe and support work/life balance. The ideal candidates ideally would have worked in either rural or smaller hospitals and have expertise either in Emergency Department, Internal or Rural Hospital Medicine.

School Based GP (part-time) for Rodney College - Contractor
