Cheers Bryan. Wise words.

“Everyone knows we have a workforce crisis looming around retirements and inadequate recruitment; then we have the ongoing sustainability of general practices which is yet to be properly addressed at all; and third, funding in high-deprivation, high-needs areas."

Fixed that for you.

Why has it taken what seems like decades for the RNZCGP to actually make any form of conscientious proactive commentary about the Balkanising state of traditional primary care ?

Is it simply because most practices have Cornerstone so "it must all be hunky-dory" ?

Cornerstone still seems to be substantially facility-focussed and not quality, or workflow focussed.

Or is it that the relationship with the Ministry is simply too delicate with regard to the funding of training for our future GP's ?

He who pays the piper calls the tune Jonathon. Sadly the College is now absolutely dependent on Government funding rather than fees and with a massive number of staff to support there is no way they'll risk upsetting the Government now.
