The East Coast north of Gisborne is one of the most isolated and economically deprived areas of the country, and its mostly Maori residents experience some of the worst health outcomes. Iwi health provider and PHO Ngati Porou Hauora is trying to turn the tide of what it calls decades of official neglect.
