Being both a doctor and business owner, there aren’t enough hours in the day!

That’s what Dr John Cantillon, part owner of Springvale Medical Centre said recently, “Omicron has highlighted this, life is more complex and demanding now, it’s hard to do both.”

Dr John Cantillon, Dr Johanita Engelbrecht and Dr Deon Hazelhurst believe it’s vital to have succession plans for patients, staff, and other partners in a practice. They have partnered with Green Cross Health to achieve this and provide some personal balance while continuing to work in the practice.

Dr Cantillon says, “The clinic is on Fitzherbert Ave near a busy intersection in an area of growth. We’ve been struggling to meet demand. We’re looking forward to working with Green Cross Health to be able to grow and adapt. The neighbourhood needs it!”

Springvale Medical Centre is a first-time entry for Green Cross Health’s medical centre network in the Whanganui region. From 1 April they partner 70/30 with current owner GPs Dr Johanita Engelbrecht and Dr Deon Hazelhurst to support and grow their 4,400 local enrolled patients.

With this and other recent additions, Green Cross Health’s medical centre network increases to 55 practices supporting 344,000 enrolled patients across the country - making Green Cross Health the largest general practice provider.
