Gain Health Centre joins the Green Cross Health network taking their network size to 53 practices, with over 1,400 staff supporting 334,000 enrolled patients across New Zealand.

It is an Upper Hutt-based practice with multidisciplinary team of 5 doctors, a nurse practitioner, 5 nurses, 5 admin, a pharmacy prescriber, HIP, health coach and support worker supporting 4,000 local enrolled patients.

Dr Elke Chantelau and Dr Imogen Robertson previously jointly owned Gain Health Centre 50/50. Dr Chantelau has chosen to step out of the shareholding and down as Director.

Dr Chantelau comments “People have asked whether I’m retiring but I’m not ready for that yet. I will continue to work in the practice for all my patients and looking forward to having less worries about operational issues and running the practice.”

Green Cross Health has purchased Dr Chantelau’s shares joining 50/50 with Dr Robertson.

Dr Robertson comments on the new ownership and working arrangement, “I wanted to keep leading the practice but didn’t want to do it on my own. So, moving forward Green Cross Health gives us administrative support of business operations, HR and recruitment.”

“We knew of Green Cross Health through the owner of the Unichem Upper Hutt pharmacy next door and had heard good things. The GXH team are great, and the relationship so far has been amazing, things we need to get organised just get done!”

Green Cross Health already has two other practices in the Hutt Valley: Silverstream Health Centre in Upper Hutt and Muritai Health Centre in Lower Hutt.

Wayne Woolrich, General Manager Medical at Green Cross Health says, “We’re really excited to have Gain join us. Together, these three practices naturally form a great general practice cluster supporting this wider community.”

“Having close collaboration between our groups of practices is one of the key benefits to patients. It’s all about making sure we are improving access to the best healthcare for our local communities.”

Silverstream and Gain already have a strong local relationship having cooperated for the benefit of patients over the past couple of years.
