The PSAAP Group met virtually and discussed a range of matters including:

  • Members of the Transition Unit (Helene Carbonatto and Benedict Hefford) presented an update on the formulation of the Interim NZ Health Plan, which covered funding, pay parity and the future of the PHO Services Agreement.

  • The Ministry of Health provided an update on potential new service changes for the period from 1 July 2022.

  • PSAAP made changes to the Protocol that governs PSAAP to recognise the establishment of the Contracted Provider Caucus as requested by the General Practice Leaders’ Forum (GPLF). PSAAP acknowledged Drs Mark Peterson and Angus Chambers as the Contracted Provider Caucus representatives.

  • PSAAP discussed the Annual Statement of Reasonable Fees Increase methodology, recognised some of its limitations which offered opportunities for its improvement, and recommended that advice would be sent to the Transition Unit to support their immediate work.

  • The PSAAP Gender Identification Working Group is committed to releasing the first iteration of the Gender and Sex Data Protocol as a pilot to the primary care sector for review and feedback. This will be released in December 2021. Educational resources will be made available as part of the release.

  • A PSAAP working group will present the work to date on planned care to the Transition Unit to support service planning.

  • This was the last PSAAP meeting for Liz Stockley. Liz is a PHO Appointed Agent representative for whom she has been a strong advocate as an active PSAAP member. PSAAP wishes her well.
