Justine Thorpe has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for Tū Ora Compass Healtheffective 1stJanuary 2022. Ms Thorpe has been acting CEO since January 2021 and replaces Martin Hefford in the role.

Ms Thorpe started her journey with Tū Orain 2013 and has worn many organisational hats during this time including Wairarapa General Manager -Integration Programme Manager, Lead - Primary Care Development Team, Lead - Māori Population Health Team and Deputy CEO.

“As an authentic leader with exceptional relationship skills, the Board values Justine’s natural ability to engage people in a vision and take them on a journey of change.Justine’s genuine passion for making a difference to the community she serves and commitment to achieving Māori health equity is well respected by her colleagues across the sector,” he says.

Tū Ora Compass Health is a primary care network and not for profit social enterprise which provides quality primary health care services to an enrolled population of 335,000 people across the Wellington, Porirua, Wairarapa and Kāpiti areas.We employ around 300 people and contract with 57 medical practices, eight of which provide Very Low Cost Access services. We also provide entity support servicesto a number of practices through a subsidiary entity, Latitude.

Every year Tū Ora and its contracted providers:

  • Provide approximately 1,515,462 consults
  • Administer approximately 217,768 immunisations
  • Deliver 200 clinical practice development sessions to 1,074 individuals
  • Provide over 18,633 specialist sexual health visits to approximately 4,098 unique patients
  • Fund nearly 32,000 radiology interventions
  • Provide 9,200 retinal screens
  • Deliver 3,702 podiatry visits
  • Arrange 9,866 funded visits for 3,486 people requiring mental health interventions
  • Respond to 487 Pacific Navigation referrals
