To employ or contract a new GP? Some advice on resolving the dilemma over which option is best

We’re looking at taking on a new associate GP in our group practice. The GP we have in mind would prefer to be engaged as an independent contractor, but we hope this will be a permanent role and wonder whether they should perhaps be an employee?
