Signature exempt e-scripts

In order to assist with the current COVID-19 crisis the New Zealand health system is currently facing, RxOne, indici and My Practice (GP software companies) have integrated their respective systems to enable seamless and non-contact e-prescribing and dispensing between GP's and pharmacists in real-time.

All three companies have accelerated their technology development in order to better manage and mitigate the COVID-19 risks for pharmacists and GPs. We aim to significantly streamline the prescription and dispensing process for both health professionals and their patients while concurrently reducing human touchpoints in the process.

To prepare to set up for this service, there are a couple of important steps you need to take first:

• if your GP surgery has indici, you will need to ensure that RxOne Messaging is installed, and the computer that it is installed on is switched on at all times
• if your GP surgery has My Practice, you will need Healthlink installed in order to receive signature exempt prescriptions

Please note, we are working closely with all parties to get this up and running as smoothly and as quickly as possible. There will be improvements and changes as we go along, so in this time of change and uncertainty, we ask for your patience.
