Queens Service Medal recipient joins Alliance Health Plus PHO

Alliance Health Plus (AH+) is very pleased to announce the appointment of Metuakore (Metua) Bates, to the position of Manager of Pacific Integration and Development Services (PIDS).
“I’m excited to have been appointed as the PIDS Manager, and look forward to contributing to the AH+ mission of transforming the health and well-being of Pacific and high-needs communities” says Metua.
Metua was formally welcomed by the organisation today in a ceremony that reflected on the significance of her appointment as , her contributions to Pacific health and what lies ahead in combatting inequities for Pacific communities.
Being a Registered Nurse with an executive MBA qualification and Queens Service Medal awarded for her contributions to the Cook Island community, Metua has significant experience in leading and managing programmes designed to improve the health and wellbeing of Pacific peoples.
Metua was formally the Vice President of the Auckland branch of PACIFICA Inc., and their national treasurer. She has more than 33 years' experience in the health sector and has worked extensively within the Pacific community in New Zealand to promote positive health outcomes as a foundation member of the Cook Islands Nurses Association. She was the recipient of the Pacific Health Leadership Award in 2002.
