Grab some popcorn, hit the couch; New Zealand Doctor | Rata Aotearoa brings you the fourth Popcorn Panel tomorrow night, taking a closer look at recommendations of the Health and Disability System Review panel report, aka the Simpson report.

Tomorrow night, the fourth panel will discuss “Health NZ and super-sized DHBs – déjà vu”.

From 7pm, the panel will be chatting about what the creation of mega-DHBs and the new Health NZ might mean for the sector.

Join New Zealand Doctor | Rata Aotearoa editor Barbara Fountain and panellists health policy researcher Tim Tenbensel, sector commentator and writer Ian Powell and ProCare medical director Allan Moffitt for an hour on Zoom, as they chat and take questions from the audience about the direction the health sector might be taking.

This is the fourth panel in our current series The Popcorn Panels: Chatting about the Simpson report.

We’ve already chatted about PHOs and localities, the possibility of a Māori health commissioning agency, and what the recommendations hold for general practice.

The panels are free to attend but it is necessary to register at https://www.thehealthmedia.co.nz/popcorn-panels
