Agreement reached with PSA on Data and Digital and Pacific change processes

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is pleased to have reached agreement with the Public Service Association (PSA) on two further change proposals.
Agreement had previously been achieved on change proposals for our National Public Health Service and two Planning, Funding and Outcomes teams.
The PSA has now also agreed to halt legal proceedings for the Data and Digital and Pacific change processes.
A number of factors have led to this agreement. While new structures will still be implemented, Health NZ has heard the views and concerns expressed by staff and has committed to enabling as many staff as possible to be retained or redeployed into roles in these teams and elsewhere in the organisation.
We previously attended mediation with the PSA in response to legal proceedings it filed in the Employment Relations Authority on these changes proposals. While we didn’t resolve the issues during mediation, both sides continued discussions and we appreciate the PSA approaching those in a constructive manner.
Final decisions on the above change processes will be issued in the coming weeks.
Health NZ continues to work through processes for other business units where change is underway to ensure all parts of our organisation operate efficiently and deliver for patients. We will remain engaged with our staff and unions as we do this.
