The Board of Acurity Health Group today announced the appointment of new CEO Dr Jonathan Coleman, former Minister of Health.

“We are delighted that Dr Coleman will be joining the Acurity team,” said Andrew Savage, Executive Chairman of Acurity.

“He brings a unique set of highly relevant skills and a deep understanding of the health sector through his background as a former Minister of Health, combined with his clinical and business experience. ”Dr Coleman’s appointment comes at a busy and exciting time for Acurity Health Group.

“Acurity is amidst an exciting period of investment and growth and we look forward to working with Jonathan to implement our broad ranging ambitions, “ said Andrew Savage.

“Amongst a range of future plans, we are pushing forward with the $100 million redevelopment of Wakefield Hospital, and are now in the process of developing a radiation oncology unit at the Bowen Icon Cancer Centre, delivering the full spectrum of cancer care under one roof.”

Jonathan Coleman said “I am thrilled to be joining the team at such a time of growth for the company.  Acurity’s future is genuinely exciting as we expand services and continue to deliver the highest standards of healthcare. I’m looking forward to getting underway – there’s a lot on Acurity’s agenda.”
