Jenny Nager believes Taranaki DHB’s proposal of an A&M clinic is likely to worsen the local GP shortage problem

Following publication of the article – “South Taranaki needs to focus on retaining GPs not an urgent care clinic” in the 28 February issue of New Zealand Doctor, Jenny Nager of Hawera, a local health services advocate and former Taranaki DHB board member, forwarded this comment she presented to a Taranaki DHB meeting last November

This year [2017] we have seen the South Taranaki GP situation in crisis – not that many other years have been good for some considerable time. It has
