Ponsonby Medical Centre sold to Third Age Health

Central Auckland general practice Ponsonby Medical Centre has announced they have sold to national primary care provider Third Age Health.

Transfer of the business is expected to be completed on the 31 March 2022 with current GP owners Dr Paula Weadon and Dr Dion Martley remaining as part of the clinical team.

Dr Dion Martley comments, “As a small community practice we are delighted to be passing ownership to Third Age Health who we know holds the same values in ensuring continuity of care for our enrolled patients and the local community.”

“After having a short break to recharge we look forward to getting back into the practice to work with the team and focusing on caring for our patients, without having to worry about the burden of administration and management of the business.”

Ponsonby Medical Centre is the second general practice purchase for Third Age Health in Auckland following Belmont Medical Centre in late 2021. Along with Hawkes Bay Wellness this brings their family of general practices to three and is part of the organisations strategy to provide sustainable primary healthcare services for their aged residential care (ARC) partners across New Zealand.
