Samantha might find a large pool of retired and semi retired doctors in the next couple of years happy to help out for a bit of fun and to keep their brains active. Experience is immeasurable.

I don't think the MOH agree with your last sentence John, in fact I suspect they have cooked up a report to try to convince kiwis otherwise...

This article incorrectly described Samantha Bailey as a GP but she is a doctor working in general practice and has general registration. I apologise for the error.

Unlike  Nurse Practitioner ( TM) there is no legal definition  of General Practitioner  that  gives  any one  the  understanding  of  what  training  and  Qualifications  and scope of practice   a doctor may  have. Somewhat  weirdly a Nurse Practitioner (  TM ) can  have  a scope of practice described  as general practice which  if it had  legal standing  as a specialty  in  medicine would mean  a  doctor  (  A term that  does have  legal standing)
