Covid-19 update: 7019 new cases, 343 people in hospital

There were 7019 new cases of Covid-19 reported last week, and 343 people were in hospital with the virus.
Of the cases reported, 4361 were reinfections, Te Whatu Ora says.
There were 26 new deaths attributable to Covid-19 reported this week.
While there were 343 people were in hospital with the virus at midnight Sunday, 21 January 2024, information for cases in intensive care was not available.
The seven-day rolling average of new cases was 995.
There were 8040 new cases reported in the week leading up to 14 January, of which 4992 were reinfections.
