Covid-19 update: 2968 new cases, 14 deaths attributed to virus

There have been 2968 new cases of Covid-19 reported in New Zealand over the past week, and 14 further deaths attributed to the virus.
Of the new cases, 1314 were reinfections.
At midnight Sunday 1 October, 177 cases were in hospital and seven in intensive care.
The seven-day rolling average of new cases was 422, slightly down from 426 last week.
Last week, Te Whatu Ora reported 2998 new cases and 18 further deaths.
